The Jerome Robbins Theater is an open stage space with a main raked seating bank accommodating 187, and a small balcony that seats 51.
THE STAGE
The stage is 42’ (12.8m) wide from wall to wall with 33’ of clear width between side stage galleries. It is 28’ (8.5m) from the downstage edge to the back wall. The stage deck is wood construction. A 36’ X 24’ (11m X 7.3m) portable, sprung dance deck is available.
THE HOUSE
The orchestra level seats 187 in eleven rows of bench seating, each row accommodating 17 people. The balcony seats 51 in three rows of bench seating, each row accommodating 17 people. The first row of the orchestra is on stage level and 6’6” (2m) from the stage edge. The last row of the orchestra is 34’6” (10.5m) from the stage edge and 13’9” (4.2m) above stage level. The first row of the balcony is 23’6” (7.2m) from the stage edge and 18’6” (5.6m) above stage level. The last row of the balcony is 29’9” (9m) from the stage edge and 22’6” (6.9m) above stage level.
EQUIPMENT
The theater features an extensive infrastructure of lighting, audio, and video equipment.
The fully motorized rigging system consists of 16 line sets with a capacity of 1200 lbs (545kg) each. Working heights of battens: maximum out trim is 27’7” [8m40cm]; low trim is 4’0” [1m21cm] off the deck. Line set #1: (1) – 33’ x 18” x 12” [10m05cm x 45cm x 30cm] ballroom box truss. Line sets #2-16: (15) – 30’ [9m14cm] battens, 1-1/2” [38mm] diameter schedule 40 pipe; 24” [60cm] batten extensions for either side of each batten.
The lighting system has 264 dimmers at 2.4kw controlled by an ETC Ion console. The inventory of theatrical lighting fixtures includes ETC Source Four Ellipsoidals, ETC Source Four Pars with CXI color scrollers, Robert Juliat Lutin , Altman FC-1 Far Cycs, and Ministrips.
The sound system features a full Meyer speaker setup with repertory surround positions. The soundboard is a Yamaha LS9-32. A paging system is located throughout the theater and backstage areas.

CONTROL BOOTH
The control booth is located at the rear of the balcony and an in-house sound position may be installed in the center of the orchestra section.
DRESSING ROOMS
There are two dressing rooms: one on stage level with a capacity of 4–6 performers, the other on the balcony level with a capacity of 10–14 performers.
