BAC’s studios and performance spaces are available for rent and are ideal for a variety of uses:

Our facilities:

Studios — Our studios range in size from 850 square feet to 3,096 square feet and are completely column-free, with sprung wood floors and ceilings ranging in height from 18 to 20 feet. Large windows provide expansive southern and western views of Manhattan and the Hudson River. Performance-quality lighting and sound equipment are available upon request for additional fees.

Howard Gilman Performance Space — Our multi-purpose performance space is an open stage space with a sprung-wood floor and a raked seating bank accommodating 136 people in seven rows of bench seating.  Additional floor seating may increase total capacity to 150.  The seating system can be removed entirely, making this an ideal space for large gatherings.

The Jerome Robbins Theater — Our new theater is an open stage space with a main raked seating bank accommodating 187 in eleven rows of bench seating, as well as a balcony accommodating 51 in three rows of bench seating.

Current Availability

BAC is currently only accepting rehearsal rentals for the Fall 2011 season. 
Spring 2012 performance and event rental requests are currently being accepted.


Hours of operation: Monday through Friday 10 AM – 9 PM; Saturday 10 AM – 6 PM; Sunday upon request.

BAC is closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
