BAC’s studios are available for rent and provide an ideal setting for rehearsals, performances, lectures, special events, auditions, and meetings/conferences. The studios, ranging in size from 810 square feet to 3,096 square feet, are completely column-free, with sprung wood floors and very high ceilings. Large windows provide expansive southern and western views of Manhattan and the Hudson River. Performance-quality lighting and sound equipment are available upon request for additional fees.
Rehearsals/Auditions
Rehearsal space is offered Monday through Friday, 10 AM – 9 PM, Saturday, 10 AM – 6 PM, and Sunday upon request. To inquire about renting space at BAC, please e-mail

NYSCA–Subsidized Rentals
With a generous Rehearsal Space Subsidy grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), BAC is able to offer the NYSCA rental rate of $10/hour to New York-based dance artists. All NYSCA rate inquiries must be in writing and will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis. Certain restrictions apply. Please e-mail a completed NYSCA Rental Request Form to

Technical Equipment
All technical equipment is subject to availability. Please arrange a meeting with BAC’s Technical Director at least 6 weeks prior to the proposed rental date. Final equipment availability may not be confirmed until ten days prior to the beginning of the rental.
BAC Studio Rules
Kindly observe the following:
- With the exception of water, beverages and food (including chewing gum) should not be consumed in the studios.
- The following footwear should not be worn in the studios: street shoes, dance shoes treated with shoe paint, and pointe shoes and ballet slippers treated with rosin.
- Tap, character, and flamenco shoes are permitted only by prior arrangement and with the use of floor protection.
- Pianos should not be moved without BAC staff assistance.
- Spike marks, if used, should be taken up after each rehearsal.
- Due to limited storage capabilities, nothing can be stored at BAC without prior arrangement.
- No bicycles are allowed in the building.
