Nelly van Bommel / NØA Dance
Pinguli, Pinguli
(2011)

Apr 18 — Apr 19 2012

A French native of Dutch descent, Nelly van Bommel—who was recently named among Dance Magazine’s “25 to Watch”—incorporates multiple dance languages into her choreography.  Pinguli, Pinguli (2011) blends theatricality, humor, and raw athleticism in an exploration of community rituals and practices, set to music by celebrated Greek singer Savina Yannatou.

“Nelly van Bommel’s choreography magically teeters between tragedy and comedy, classical and folk, serenity and wildness.” – Dance Magazine

Pinguli, Pinguli was developed, in part, in residence at BAC.
